It's late in the month.. that means its time for more CYA from our lawyer
Got a letter from our unethical lawyer today.
Following our previous phone conversation, both Lady of tdaxp and myself wrote him. He did not respond, and I imagine he assumed that we would follow-up with a phone call, office visit, or something else. He must have realized what the next logical step in getting recourse for his incompetence was, hence today's epistle
As it is, his letter is bizarre, an extremely polite letter that seems to ignore the last 6 weeks or so of ineptitude. I imagine the purpose is CYA, but either our attorney is operated at a truly deep level or he takes as much care and considering in protecting himself as he does protecting our interests
When this is all said and done... you should bill the man for a dozen or two 8x10 picture frames that you will use to frame each and every one of the correspondences between you and he and put them in a prominent area of your home.

I'd rather have a copy of Lady of tdaxp's green card -- a piece of paper we still do not have, thanks in part to our lawyer sitting on our case, because it wasn't a priority (his words).

You ARE getting another immigration lawyer, right? And a separate one to sue the first one?

"He must have realized what the next logical step in getting recourse for his incompetence was..."
I assume you mean:
1) Fire His Ass and Hire Somebody else
Long-Term (After you have hired a new Attorney):
2) File a complaint with the State Bar Association
3) File A Small Claims Court claim to get your money back (he didn't provide the service for which he was paid).
And if you are evil...
4) Post his contact info to your Gangsta Disciple thread readers as somebody who might want to represent them for free.

We have specific reasons to fear sabotage from this lawyer. As such we plan on staying quiet wrt to him until this is over. (I wonder if our quietness prompted his letter.) As soon as this is over we will see what we can do.
PS, I don't threaten people. That's what Dozier Internet Law does.
