The Great Wall of China at Badaling

The Bus to the Great Wall. Double points if you can spot the two lao wai.

The Beijing City Wall from the Buss. The haziness comes both from the windows and the air

Another view of the City Wall

A Country Boy runs down the road. The bus is currently stalled, because of a snafu down the highway. High traffic, no movement. I was very happy to have my mask.

Sheep! I've seen a few horses in Beijing, but these are my first farm animals of the trip.

The cause of the traffic bottleneck

First View of the Great Wall, from the Highway

In retrospect, agreeing with the Northern Barbarians' request to build a highway through the wall prooved... unwise

At the Great Wall, gift stores and fruit sellers

As a professor warned me, Badaling is known for buses... lots and lots of buses

Thematic Incoherent was big at Badaling. Here, a reminder of South Dakota's own Bear Country USA.

More bears. Why? Why not!

While in the line, I was thankful I didn't try Badaling on the weekend

A Wall of some Greatness

The Great Wall -- from the Great Wall. It's like I'm looking at myself

Does this mean that China will distribute Red Flag Perl?

Can you see Beijing Clearly? No one else can, either.

Can you see the Great Wall clearly? No one else can, either.

Not Scaling the Wall -- but it looks like it

The Great Wall is the only place in China Lady of tdaxp and I have received hostile looks. Not from the people in this shot, but from an apparently cross-section of visitors.

This guy had the loudest megaphone in history. He sounded like GOD -- if GOD shouted in Chinese.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.
No, seriously.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.
