Average User's Opinion of Firefox
A review of Firefox from a very non-technological relative.
We've been using Firefox on new computer. Is SO slick to have high speed! Is going to be a HUGE timesaver! Just looking at photos my mom sent last night--didn't have to wait 10 sec. or more for each photo to load--was instantaneous! What a relief!

I've never been a fan of the open-source movement, since it often seems like just the efforts of a bunch of hackers who are jealous of Microsoft. But I downloaded Mozilla a little over a year ago just to try it, and I've never even considered going back to IE.

Mozilla's engine is competing with the KDE folk who provide KHTML to the community. Mozilla and KHTML both compete for inclusion in non-windows browser efforts. I believe that KHTML is winning more of those competition than Mozilla in the cell phone space and in non-windows browsers. IE remains the prohibitive favorite in the Windows space.

Apple's choice of KHTML over Mozilla was startling, and may be indicitive of general trends.
I like both, and would take either over IE. I loved Konqueror, and wish it was easily available for Windows.
