Core India and Gap Pakistan
"India’s role in rebuilding Afghanistan: In spite of hurdles imposed by Pakistan, India has played a meaningful role in Afghanistan," The Acorn, http://opinion.paifamily.com/index.php?p=1247, 14 February 2005.
"Regarding the CIA’s soothsayers: The CIA’s predictions for India and Pakistan cannot simultaneously come true," The Acorn, http://opinion.paifamily.com/index.php?p=1248, 15 February 2005.
In spite of hurdles imposed by Pakistan, India has played a meaningful role in Afghanistan
The Acorn has two posts contrasting India and Pakistan. India is a responsible player spreading connectedness, despite Pakistan's efforts
New Delhi currently spends around $100 million on various projects and $70 million on the reconstruction of a 213-kilometer road from Zaranj to Delaram in Afghanistan. This ‘new silk route’ road is the result of a project between India, Iran and Afghanistan to develop trade with Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The route will utilise the Chabahar port in Iran to send goods to Afghanistan and to Central Asian countries. New Delhi has gifted three Airbus aircraft along with crew to support Arian Afghan Airlines, and more than 270 Indian buses currently ply in Kabul, Kandahar and Herat. In 2002, 18 Afghan judges and lawyers were trained at the Indian Law Institute in New Delhi. An IT specialist has been deputed to the Afghan government. In the foreign minister’s office in Kabul, a local area network with Internet access via an Indian company has been set up while Afghan bureaucrats are being trained in the use of computers.
Three Reserve Bank of India officials were deputed to the Central Bank of Afghanistan in July 2002. A team of 30 Indian doctors treats thousands of patients every week while $4 million has been allotted for the rehabilitation of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. New Delhi will gift 300 vehicles to the Afghan National Army once Pakistan allows their transit. Pakistan allows Afghan exports to India via Wahga, but not vice versa. Thus, every day, a large numbers of trucks cross Wahga carrying dry fruit and carpets but return empty. No country is spending in Afghanistan as much as India, except for the United States, which spends $900 million annually. So far, India’s efforts in Afghanistan have the backing of the United States and Russia. Indian analysts say India’s interests are two-fold: it does not want the Taliban to resurface; and it wants the new Afghan security structure to be free of anti-India elements
Pakistan, meanwhile...
But, contrary to the Bush administration’s belief, the possibility of an implosion in Pakistan is very much real as long as its army retains control. There any so many rifts and divides in Pakistan that a fundamentally hamfisted dictatorship cannot heal or reconcile. Pakistan needs national reconciliation and the steady, irreversible return of the army to its barracks.
Until that happens, Pakistan will remain the borderline about-to-fail state that we have become used to. Unfortunately, foreign policy in America and New Delhi is doing nothing to veer away from this unhappy path. If the current equations continue, India can, without doubt, continue to register healthy economic growth, but Pakistan will remain a Damocles’ sword hanging over its head.
Consider that the Army is the only respected and stable institution in Pakistan, this is not good news.
Pakistan is an imaginary state. It's east is an extension of India while the west is made out of pieces of Balucistan and Pashtunistan. Pakistan is a nuclear state with a rogue intelligence service. Dealing with Islamabad's failures is a great problem of our times.

HELLO! TO EVERY BODY FROM,
INDEPENDANT PAKHTUNKHWA.
(A country not yet created, but it exists in our pakhtun hearts. Pakhtunistan is the home of pakhtuns. Pakhtun is another name for Afghans. Afghans speak Afghani(pashto). They live by their traditional laws called Pakhtunwali, hence another name pakhtun. When afghans conquered India, the Indians gave them the name( THE PATHANS). Afghani is spoken in two dialects, hence their name might sound differently (pakhtun-pashtun,pakhto-pashto, pakhtunistan-pashtunistan), but mean exactly the same. The word Afghan lost its priority because of great confusion that it created due changes in history and geography.(FOR DETAIL SEE OUR OLD WEBSITE).
At present the country Afghanistan constitutes Afghans, tajiks, uzbeks & hazaras. The Afghans have a law in Pakhtunwali i.e (to grant asylum ). In the former times these peoples use to come for jobs and trade purposes, some of them are living on Afghan land since then. After the communist revolution, a huge number of refugees were granted asylum by Afghans as their muslim brothers.
On the other hand a large part of former Afghanistan, inhabited by true Afghans came under british rule and later became a part of pakistan. The durand line seperated Afghans from their parent country. This land of Afghanistan was further divided into three parts.(basis of division was british formula-(DIVIDE & RULE). These areas are( Quetta&related areas), (Tribal areas) and ( North west frontier province).
Our struggle is to unite these areas into one province (independant Pakhtunistan or Pakhtunkhwa) and if pakistan continues discrimination, then azad or a seperate homeland for pakhtuns or otherwise Greater Afghanistan. The Afghans living in Pakhtunistan for more than fifty years as pakistanis forget their AFGHAN identity and hence came up with the name pakhtun and pakhtunistan or pakhtunkhwa (a name used by Afghan king Ahmad Shah Abdali while he was in India.)

Listen-Please,
An interesting and informative comment. Thank you. I agree that the borders of the Sub-Continent are largely arbitrary.
Would Baluchistan be included in Pakthunkwha?

Well, Its fashionable to say that pakistan is an about to fail state in indian and jewish/zionist circles. However it has remained a wishful thinking. Will it remain a wishful thinking? time will only tell.
It is very true that the international boundaries in south asia are imaginary. Why because they were drawn by the British when they were in a hurry to leave the subcontinent and were not interested in what heppens next.
Pakistan has been able to defy all predictions about its failed status and lumbar on for 60 years. Now that it has got nuclear weapons, the scenario has changed alltogether. It is very nice to say that Pakistan will break up, but will it? I dont think so.
Why? because the people in pakistan are united in their misery and depriviation.
There is a single rallying point in the whole of Pakitan and that is their religion. People have been trying to break it by promoting ethnic and sectarion tensions but to no avail.
It is one thing to hope and think that pakistan would breakup, but its entirely different to think about what will happen if it did? will it be affordable? with the stakes being high I doubt it.
Add to the quagmire the interest Chinese are taking in this neo-great game of the sub-continent, and the things take a whole different shape.
Once again the big nations of the world are playing each other in the mountains and valleys of the greatest playing field of the world.
Who lost last time? and who will win this time? Only time will tell. But signs are that with failing public support at home USA has little to gain. It will be extremely painful to withdraw troops. Will the govt who carries out this mamoth task survive the economic aftermath, let alone the next election, only time will tell.
India on the other hand is being boosted economically. Will that pose a threat to Pakistan? I doubt it. Economic growth after a war is good. BUT if economic growth precedes a war, then the financial gains are lost forever. Can the pundits with big bucks to lose in a war would risk it happening? I doubt it.
In the meantime to think that Pakistan will implode and fall under its own weight is dreaming of the most wishful kind. Pakistan will not break without a war with an external aggressor (read india). But with economic growth raising the stakes of losses I doubt that it will ever happen in the near or far future.
In the meantime what will such bloggs and articles achieve? not much I think.
So dream on untill you wake to the reality.

Mark,
Thank you for your comment. I assure you my thoughts here are more than dreams.
I started to reply as a comment, but I realized that the length made it work better as a new post. [1] So I hope you can follow & enjoy the discussion as it evolves.
Take care
